batsilyer on people management


I do not intend to preach about how to handle people for i believe that there are different leadership and supervisory style applicable to different groups of different people. this article if about MY style in dealing with groupmates.

today, i learned new things about management:

a. work "smart hours" than "long hours" which basically means if you are left in the office every night cramming because of deadlines, you should reconsider your "style"

b. team management is not about how to deal with what team you have, it is more of how the team will grow (literally and figuratively)

c. the team is not the ONLY concern in management because even supervisors, managers and process owners are PART of the TEAM!!!! every member of a team is important thus all their needs (as long as it is employment-related) must be addressed.

i admit i have lots to learn and know that learning will not be completed in the near future. right now, i admit that i am enjoying the "work" because i do not have people working for me or under me but working with me.

Really, that's one fun job!!!
